Winter's Tale

There are two gals on inkpop who are really amazing and made this cool publishing company for YA writers all over the world!

From their site:

Reuts, pronounced |root s|, publishes without the boundaries of state borders, legislation, or rule. We are run through an online base camp with our staff located across the country, and with one goal in mind: publishing quality novels of authors looking to be published. Those a part of Reuts have been through the publishing process before; the querying, the waiting, the impersonal response (and often times rejection). And repeat. But here at Reuts, we’re looking to redefine the relationship authors develop with their publishers. We welcome new authors to established authors looking for a home with a growing company.
Reuts looks to explore every avenue the publishing market has to offer, from traditional, to ebooks, and those in between, based on the specific needs of your manuscript.

Anybody can submit their query and first ten pages (or closest cutoff) and be looked over. True, some will be rejected but to have little restrictions on submission requirements is one of the best things Reuts does for authors. I know authors who get dejected when they see a requirement that they don’t fit… (wrong country, too young, no agent, not been published before [in a school or local thing, too])… so I think what Reuts is doing will get quite a number of authors to come to them for publication or even guidance.

(They also already have a book with their company: Morningside)

{8 December 2009}   I Wanna Make Noise, Not Love

“WOAH! my blog broke 100 views!http://deatheaterchick.wordpress.com/ *does a little dance, makes a little noise, gets down tonight*” via Twitter

Yup. Got out of stats, read a few things on inkpop, checked this blog and IT HAD ONE HUNDRED AND ONE VIEWS!!!!! :)  :) Exciting news for me. So enjoy some 70s music while you listen to a ramble:

(Damn George Michael is sexy!) *cough* anyway. …   Now I forgot what I was dreaming but I should’ve been with you instead! DAMN YOU WHAM!! Grr. I forgot what I was going to tell you in this blog. Hmm. Shall I just share another pretty snow picture?

The freeway home

Driving home on the freeway...

I am making a lot of friends on inkpop, deviantART, the ZQC, and school (yes, I DO have a life not on the internet!). The freshmen at school are amazing, inkpoppers are great writers, deviantARTists are SUPERB!!!!!, and the ZQCers are just wonderfully friendly. Meeks, Revvie, Valdemort, Megzy Chan, the Whitzard of Oz, and Sairy to name a few are my new best friends who are as obsessed with Heroes, Star Trek, and Quinto as I am. :D LOVE YOU GUYS!!

My Christmas story might be turned into a book… :| I don’t know what I think of that.

I will be 17 in 22 days. I don’t know what I will be doing.

And uh… My room is messy. Going to go now so I can post this before my mom gets here to bring me back home. So I can clean my room and do homework. And watch NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.

(Wow. It took me forever to spell ‘easier’ correctly. How did I forget there was an ‘a’ in there? *headdesk*)

{3 December 2009}   Welcome to Hell! (Story Update)

I said was writing a Christmasy story in my last post, right? Good. Well… the story. Is a bit autobiographical. Its what went on in my mind after my Thanksgiving trip to Arizona. :s Don’t judge me! I was thinking that it would be a good story! Something nobody has written about. Something controversial. Something that, maybe, some people can relate to. I was using me and one of my cousins to help get an idea of how the main character would act and feel. I know all this vagueness has left you confused… Let me clarify with a short scene from the story:

“Just shut up, already!” My face was red, my fists were clenched over my keyboard, and my eyes shut tight trying to erase Markus’ mocking laugh from my memory. “I do NOT have a crush on my cousin!”

I had a feeling that people would associate this to me and think it was ME with a crush on a cousin. NO. NOT TRUE. I am an actor. I like researching what it would be like to be a character in a situation. I research those situations. I put me in those situations. I act.  If I am writing something not acting, I write down how I feel. That is my process. I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH ON ANY OF MY COUSINS! I stick to celebrities I can’t get, guys at school I can’t get, and fictional characters. NEVER family.

(Oh, “Welcome to Hell” is a working title. Its christmas but the character is getting teased about her supposed ‘crush’… I don’t know. I don’t like it that much. Sounds better than “Christcest”! XD NO idea why that came to me!)

{2 December 2009}   52nd Academy Awards, 2010

I predict that the movie Armored will win AT LEAST 3 (count ‘em – THREE) academy awards. :) Yup yup. After I see the movie I will update with which awards they will get. ^_^

In other news:

-I am working on a new short story. Its Christmasy and will be posted on inkpop.com when it is done.

-I created a deviantART account: http://smalltownactor.deviantart.com/ There are three drawings posted now. :)

-I need to complete 50 hours of an internship by March 30 and I have yet to secure an internship… :s

-I think there might be something wrong with my sanity.

{13 November 2009}   Winter is HEEEEERE!!!

I was awakened by my bird this morning. My dad came into my room and placed Yoshi on my bed by my head and gave him a DVD to sing to. Yoshi started singing and… tapping on my nose. :s Yeah. Not fun when you are trying to sleep.

So I go up, got dressed and ready for school. My mom and I went outside TO THE SIGHT OF FROST! =D It made me happy even though the weathermen said it would snow Thursday night. We got to the van and my mom started to scrape the ice off her windows as I got comfy in my seat. I texted my brother (who has yet to reply):

To Aria

“Its so cold here, moms van is frosty and i can see my breath!” -Fri, Nov 13, 7:36 am

And I COULD see my breath! It was awesome! :)

Anyway, my mom and I talked about my evil stats teacher and how stupid weathermen can be (if you read “Summer’s” posts, you will see that I am the mean one!).

More mean (in a funish way): Jazzy totally forgot that today is Friday the 13th!

Also, it is To Write Love on Her Arms Day!!! I wrote ‘love’ three times! ^_^

Love, love, love!

To Write Love on Her Arms Day - My arm!

So twitter’s “Follow Friday” is today and just a few days ago, InkPop went public (I was in the beta testing group) so, a Follow Friday of sorts: http://twitter.com/KyrieDavenport/inkpop

Also, check out inkpop.com if you want to post and get feedback on your poems, short stories, essays, and books. For the young adult genre as per HarperCollins publishing… But its a FUN site! CHECK IT OUT!
